Interest has been phenomenal with requests for invitations arriving from all over the UK and even further a field. We expect over 50 clubs to enter and added to individual entries we could reach the one thousand mark. Many of you will have seen the event is being featured heavily in the popular magazine Octane, sponsors of the Autoclassica Concours d’Elegance. They will join other sponsors and supporters of the event including dealers such as Graypaul representing Ferrari and Maserati, Rio Prestige with a mouth watering selection of the exotic cars featured the recent TV Apprentice series. 

We are especially pleased owners of some of the superb veteran, vintage and motor sport vehicles including bikes who attended the launch last September will be returning and bringing with them many fellow owners. With hourly nostalgic parades and demonstration runs through the grounds by these and other selected vehicles in chronological and marque order plus the sounds, sights and smells created by these wonderful machines is guaranteed to excite the hearts of every enthusiast. With an abundance of other activities for you to participate in and appreciate, your weekend promises to be both spectacular and memorable.

Unlike so many other events, the Autoclassica is a full weekend event and reflecting the retro event theme entrants can enjoy a private 50’s and 60’s Saturday party night in the spectacular visitors courtyard or even a rather more formal dinner in the castle dining hall. Hopefully many of you are planning to enter into the spirit of the event by coming dressed in retro costume so that we can all take a surreal journey back in time. The main theme is the 50’s, celebrating a return to the days of racing at Turnberry but pre 80’s costumes as far back as the early 1900s will be more than acceptable.

We especially want to bring to your attention some of the activities and encourage you to take part in them. The Soap Box GP created great interest when we demonstrated it at the launch and there is still time for you to build or acquire a kart and enter. Some of you will be contemplating entering the Octane Concours d’Elegance on the Sunday but please don’t forget Saturday’s Street Concours, targeting those of you who regularly use your cars and like to keep them in nice condition. The spare parts auction on Saturday is a wonderful opportunity for you to raise some cash and empty your garage of unwanted auto related parts.
Just bring them along on Saturday and report to the auctioneers marquee. There’s no auction entry fee just a 10% commission on anything sold. Sunday’s vehicle and memorabilia auction is a popular featured event. It’s surprisingly cheap to enter and with low fixed commissions on sale a great opportunity both for those wishing to sell and purchase.

The Caledonian Classic and Historic Motorsport Club will be holding a rally over the weekend with demonstration stages and tests in the castle grounds and also on the old remaining part of the Turnberry race track. If you wish to enter please see details elsewhere in this news update.

Back to the 50's :    After a successful appearance at last years "Launch" the Autoclassica welcomes back "The Peas"  your  resident 50's Rockabilly Band  who will be playing in The Visitor Centre Courtyard on Saturday & Sunday afternoon, and on the Saturday evening  (party night) for the Clubs,  Entrants & Exhibitors that will be staying with us for the weekend .   Dig out some old 50's gear and join in the fun !

Mardi Gras music  on Sunday 24th  with the Criterion "New Orleans" Brass Band.  Listen to the Jazz, Blues, & Latin Rhythms as they march around the event areas and the Courtyard in the afternoon. ===============================================================================================================================

Sporting Bears Motor Club ( North & Scotland "Polar Bears )  are to attend the Autoclassica in August.           

The "Bears"  are a dedicated group of UK wide Classic and Sports Car enthusiasts with One aim,  "To raise money for children's charities."  through attending social & touring events.  Since 1989 over £700.000 has been raised.      The Autoclassica welcomes the "Bears" to the weekend event where members of the club ( in Period Dress )  will be having a Teddy Bears Picnic.   For further information on the Sporting or Polar Bears please click on the link (above) to check out their website.

Invitations are currently being sent out to Clubs and Single Entrants to participate in the August Bank holiday event.  If you have an interresting vehicle in any of the categories listed (or similar) and  would like to take part , you can get in touch by completing the form on the "Contact" page supplying a brief description of your vehicle.  (Make / Type , Year etc.) and if suitable we will get back to you with the appropriate Guest Club or Single Entrant forms.

Caledonian Classic & Historic Motor Sport Club's 10th Aniversary  "Scottish Classic Rally Challange Club Championship" (round 4)  event will be held at Culzean during the Autoclassica weekend with a mini "Spectator" stage held in the Castle grounds . An optional Night rally and Turnberry stage will also take place.   The CCHMSC is also part of the North of England and Scotland Classic Rally Organisers.  NESCRO.
